OVERVIEW
Maul Tactics reworks the Warcraft III maze tower-defence format around a simple rule: there is no fixed track. The maze is built from your own towers, so placement is path design, economy, and defence at the same time.
The public Steam demo includes the playable loop, race selection, progression, achievements, and the systems needed to measure and tune real runs.
THE BUILD
The production game is built with Phaser 3, TypeScript, Vite, Electron, and Steamworks integration. Determinism tests, replay verification, exploit checks, and automated balance tools sit alongside the game client.
Pathfinding re-solves whenever the maze changes, keeping every route legal while still allowing the player to weaponise the shortest path.
WHAT'S NOVEL
Race-asymmetric upgrade trees change how a player should shape the board, not just the size of the numbers.
Competitive structure is part of the core simulation. It is not a separate mode added after the single-player game.
